WHAT is the PACE Unit? PACE (Progress toward Accessible Community Experiences) is a mobile unit providing a safe, accessible space for personal care at events and public spaces. With features like an adjustable changing table, ceiling hoist, and climate control, PACE ensures comfort and dignity for individuals with diverse needs. It's more than a changing unit—it's about making communities inclusive for all. Ceiling Hoist Adjustable Changing Table Climate Control WHO can use the PACE Unit? PACE was made for everyone: People with disabilities, older adults, families with young children, and anyone requiring a private, accessible space for personal care needs, rest, or quiet. WHERE can the PACE Unit be used? PACE is 100% mobile. It can be used at parks, fairs, concerts, sporting events, and other public spaces where permanent accessible restrooms may not be available. WHEN is the PACE Unit available? The PACE unit is available for community events, festivals, outdoor gatherings, and more—anytime accessible facilities are needed. We are currently available for one-day events, and will be available for multi-day events in 2025. WHY is the PACE Unit important? The PACE Unit promotes inclusion by ensuring individuals with disabilities and their families can fully participate in public events without worrying about accessible care facilities. BOARD OF DIRECTORS Passionate and dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to help us achieve our mission. Maria Mowder, President Maria has lived in Lancaster for 13 years and is an active volunteer with the high school and Lancaster Baseball Extra Inners club. Maria also leads the Lancaster MS self-help group and is an active participant in the Walk MS event. Maria is a Credentials Coordinator at Fairfield Medical Center. Read More David Macioci, Vice President David has lived in Lancaster since 1951. He is a graduate of Ohio University and obtained his Master’s Degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University. He has taught at Forest Rose School, Fisher Catholic High School, Ohio University - Lancaster and was the State of Ohio Activity Administrator II. He has served on the YMCA Board of Directors, was a Charter Board member of the Fairfield County Community Challenge, and is currently a 28 year Board member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society Board of which he held the office of Interim President for 3 years. He retired from United Parcel Service in 2015 after 30 years of service as an automotive and air ground support supervisor. Ken suffers from MS, diabetes and heart disease. As a way of giving back, he rebuilds wheelchairs and customizes them to give to people who otherwise would be unable to afford one. He is a partner in Dagger, Johnston, Miller, Ogilvie & Hampson Law Firm in Lancaster, OH, focusing on estate planning, trust and probate administration and closely-held businesses. He obtained his Undergraduate Degree from Case Western Reserve University and his Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School in 1986, joining the Dagger Firm in 1987. Brian has been and continues to be involved in many community service organizations, including Board Member and President (1995-96) of the Fairfield County Board of MR/DD, the Fisher Catholic Foundation (1996-2012), United Way Campaign Chair (2012), Chairman of the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce (2016) and Board Member of the Fairfield County Foundation (2013-19). She was, for a short time, an employee of Fairfield Industries, and then a 10-year employee of United Cerebral Palsy of Fairfield County. FCDCP’s Adult Day Program offers a variety of programs and activities to assist adults with disabilities to progress, learn, grow, participate in the community, make new friends and have fun. ADULT DAY PROGRAM Supporting people as they become more empowered to pursue independence and a fulfilled, thriving life. FCdCP offers medical transportation both in and out of Fairfield County and non-medical transportation for adults with disabilities to our ADS Program, along with other needs (ie: shopping, banking, visitations and also funerals for immediate family members.) TRANSPORTATION Door-to-door medical appointment transportation, provided free of charge to qualified Fairfield County residents. Los voluntarios de nuestro equipo de rampas ayudan a construir rampas para personas con discapacidades en el condado de Fairfield.
